About
My name is Cailin Clements
I’m currently a Freshman at UCSB and I’m excited to start my journey in animal research. I’m a student in writing 60 and will be using this website as my writing portfolio!
This class focuses on writing SciComm, a type of science writing that is educational and engaging at the same time. We will be focusing on our own research to be able to write our own, my research will focus on mans best friend, dogs!
Goals of Writing 60
Writing 60 is looks towards developing our writing abilities in our own aspects and teaches us unique ways to do so. The first goal set out by this class is to focus on the research and peer review and reflection portion of the class through the development of our own research articles such as the SciComm article and the Advocacy project. We also focus on peer review and developing our own writing through discussions with our peers on twitter, providing feedback on classmates first drafts and interacting with each others blog posts. Lastly, this focuses on the inclusion of multimedia resources in our writing whether it is pictures, videos, or podcasts.
This class has been a great way to develop my own sense of writing and has improved my ability to go out of my usual comfort zone and try something new with writing. To get a great look at everything I’ve learned, check out my last blog post by clicking below.
